2009-10 PROGRAM OF WORK - What's Your Game Plan?

Win at Membership, Game On!

  1. Help membership grow. The Executive Council recommends increasing membership by 10%.
  2. Take membership to the next level. The Executive Council recommends encouraging the use of Be Part of It to recruit, retain, and recognize members.
  3. Take the lead. The Executive Council recommends promoting running for office at the local, district, state, and national levels.
  4. Get involved in projects. The Executive Council recommends planning chapter projects that coordinate with STAR Events and National Programs.

Advance to National Programs

  1. Motivate chapter members to complete a project for the National Programs, Student Body and Financial Fitness. The Executive Council recommends completing the state National Program recognition form for state conference after completing all projects
  2. Encourage each chapter to promote members to take the Presidential Financial Fitness Challenge. The Executive Council will recognize those members who achieve the top 10 percentile.
  3. Incorporate Student Body program information into members’ everyday lives. The Executive Council recommends each chapter sponsoring a health fair or promoting a cancer awareness workshop.

Connect 4 Family Fun

  1. Promote the National Program, Families First. The Executive Council recommends participating in the ‘Families Today’ unit to encourage better communication about diversity in families.
  2. Strengthen family bonds. The Executive Council recommends promoting the ‘Family Ties’ unit in Power of One.
  3. Encourage families to participate in community service projects together. The Executive Council recommends involving the members’ families in one chapter project.
  4. Promote a family fun night. The Executive Council recommends organizing an evening of board games.

Strategize Your Next Move for Democracy

  1. Learn Parliamentary Procedure by attending a workshop. The Executive Council will provide three workshops at Leadership Trainings.
  2. Encourage the use of Parliamentary Procedure at Chapter, District, and State levels. The Executive Council recommends getting involved with the Parliamentary Procedure STAR Event.
  3. Bring awareness of how the FCCLA Association is governed. The Executive Council encourages using the association’s hierarchy PowerPoint on the state website.
